Brother Louis Goss Obituary

Louis Goss was a beloved father, grandfather, son, husband and friend who made his transition to his heavenly home on February 18,2024 . We remember him as an extraordinary man who touch the lives of everyone he encountered.

Born on May 18,1949 in Chicago Illinois, Louis was a beacon of light from the moment he entered this world. His can-do attitude, kind heart and unwavering love for people not only defined his character but also made him a great father. 

Louis kind heart and words were felt by anyone he encountered because to know him truly was to love him. He dedicated his life to make sure that he was always a supportive husband, father, grandparent, and friend. He always had a passion for life and because of this he embraced every opportunity that came his way. He always prides himself on being a hard worker and provider.

Though Louis physical presence may not be with us anymore, his memory will forever live within our hearts and souls. We find solace in knowing he is now at peace and no longer struggling within life. We Know that he is watching over us and guiding us from above.  May he rest in eternal peace, knowing that his legacy lives on through everyone he touched.

Louis was proceeded to glory by his mother Evelyn Randall, son Norman Burl, Son-in-law Lee Spearman, and grandson Jamal Smith.

He leaves behind his wife Catherline Burl of Ozark, Alabama; two daughters Danielle Goss of Ozark, Alabama and Georgianna Smith of Gary, Indiana; one daughter in law Carroll Kelly of Normal, Illinois.

To his grandchildren he was known as “Papa Bear”, he leaves behind10 granddaughters and 7 grandsons Ajah Stringer of Ozark, Alabama; Adrianna Goss of Ozark, Alabama; A’kemiahAdams of Ozark, Alabama; Cierra Stokes Smith (Timothy Stokes) of Plainfield, Illinois; Tiffany Richmond (DawhunRichmond) of Chicago, Illinois; Brianna Smith of Chicago, Illinois; Tanessa Burl of Peoria, Illinois; Destiny Smith of Chicago Illinois; Ashley Kelly of Normal, Illinois, and Valencia Clark ( Justin Clark) of Normal Illinois; Amir Goss of Ozark, Alabama; Lee Smith of Chicago Illinois; Zion Smith of Plainfield Illinois; Louis Smith of Chicago Illinois; Tyshawn Burl ( Gabrielle Fontenot Burl) of Washington, DC; Darion Kelly of Normal, Illinois; and Jaquan Kelly of Bloomington, Illinois.

He also had the opportunity to connect with very special people such as Mrs Linda and Elizabeth Hendricks. He also leaves behind 42 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren and an abundance of nieces, nephews, and cousins that he cherished deeply.

His family was always his pride and joy. He cherished every visit and precious moment from everyone, especially his grandsons (Amir and Jamell). Even though he is gone his memory will live on in our hearts forever.
