Brother Antonio Sistrunk Obituary

Antonio Maurice Sistrunk was born on December 16, 1971, to Jesse Owens and Gloria McLeod Knox.  Antonio was baptized at a very young age at Saint Paul AME Church, Ozark, Alabama.  Antonio attended school in the Ozark City School system and  was  affectionally  known as “Reecie”.  After graduating with Carroll High School class of  1991, Antonio worked with Longan's Car Care  before branching out and starting Sistrunk's Car Care downtown Ozark.  From early childhood, Antonio was fascinated with “big trucks” which leadto his career working with several trucking companies including Wiley Sanders, Billy Pound Motor.  He was currently employed with Perdido Trucking in Birmingham, AL.  During his spare time, he enjoyed working with the youth coaching little league sports and cheering on his favorite team, the Auburn Tigers.

He was preceded in death by his Grandfathers George Owens and Comer Sistrunk. Grandmothers Inez Neal and Roberta Sistrunk Baty. Brother Ryan Ra'mone “Lupi” McLeod.  Aunts Regina Walker, Robbie Crawford and Uncle Mace Neal.

“Reecie” will forever live in the hearts of those who love him and cherish his memory

Spouse, Della Sistrunk; His loving mother, Gloria McLeod (Dannie) Knox, Ozark, AL  and father Jesse (Betty) Owens, Marietta, GA.  His only sister, Sherita (Sedrick) Reynolds and brothers Donnie (Deitra) Ware and Daniel Crawford all of Ozark, AL.  

His children whom he loved dearly:  Destiney McLendon, Ozark, AL, Jaleesa Gillyard, Sir Owen Sistrunk, Tonei Sistrunk, Kaswanet Andrews, and Alton Andrews, all of Birmingham, AL, Antonio Sistrunk, Jr., Montgomery, AL and Shameka Burnette, Cleveland, OH 

Grandchildren: The youngest, Brick Shipman, C. J. Eldridge, Legend Square, Ali Williams, Ahmad Williams, Alton Andrews, Khameron Cheatam, Aleyna Andrews, and Alton Andrews, Jr.

Uncles:  Keith (Katina) Sistrunk, Troy, AL and Michael Sistrunk, Ozark, AL.   Aunts: Marilyn (Donald) Bohanan, Albany, GA; Carolyn Hill, Atlanta, GA,  Christine Thomas, Ozark, AL, Georgell Rogers, Decatur, AL and Verdell Currington, Fayetteville, GA.

And a  host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
