Jason (J.T) Thomas, a man whose warmth and generous spirit touched everyone he met, departed this life on April 23, 2026, at the age of 52. He was a pillar of strength, a source of constant laughter, and above all, a man who loved his family.
Jason was born on December 3, 1973, in Dothan, AL, to Mr. Levi (Buddy) James Thomas and Mrs. Lou Jean (Holston) Thomas.
Jason attended Dothan High School and knew the Lord from a very early age. He spent his life building a legacy of hard work, devotion to his family, and helping others. He was a man who moved through the world with a genuine heart and had a unique ability to fix just about anything. Jason could solve any problem and brighten any room with a story. He found peace in the simple things of life, whether it was sitting around the family playing cards or dominoes, perfecting a recipe on the grill, or sharing his wisdom with the younger generation. He did so with such a presence, making a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know him.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Levi James Jr., and grandparents, Mrs. Carolyn Ruth (Neal) Holston and Mr. Gene Holston; and Mrs. Mary Dell (Young) Thomas and Mr. James Walter Thomas.
His legacy lives on through his loving children: Jamaya S. Kelley, Jason T. Thomas, Caleb T. Thomas, Mia G. Thomas, and his grandchild, whom he so adored, Jaxson Q. Thomas. He is survived by his devoted wife of 22 years, Mrs. Nedra Brown-Thomas, three loving sisters, Mrs. Sandra Lorraine (Marcus) Weaver, Ms. Regina Thomas, and Ms. Ollie Melissa Thomas. One niece, Sierra Weaver, five nephews: Monterrius D. Thomas, Tywailon Thomas, Brandon Weaver, Justin Weaver, and Ryan Weaver. “J.T.” had a special bond and affinity for his first cousins, but he considered Jeffrey Michael Lewis “Koo-Boo” and Kenneth Holston “Mister” more like brothers. He loved his aunts and treasured moments with his uncles, Mr. Billy Thomas, Mr. Matthew Thomas, and Mr. James Robert Holston “J.R., and a cousin Mr. Edward Tiller, Jr.” In addition to his family, Jason cherished his in-laws Mr. Alfonso & Lydia Brown, Jr., Ms. Carla Brown, Mr. Alfonso Brown III, and Mr. Curtis Brown. Lifelong friend Mr. Roy Turner and special friend Bryon Brown. He loved you all immensely. He will truly be missed by a loving circle of cousins, friends, and his church family near and far. Jason’s departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his family takes comfort in knowing that his love remains an unbreakable bond. We will carry his memory in our hearts until we meet him again.
