Mother Annie Will “Duddie” Williams Obituary

Annie Will Williams, fondly known as Duddie, was born on June 8, 1924, in Ozark, Alabama. On Thursday, September 11, 2025, Annie transitioned from this earthly life to eternity at her Granddaughters home in Madison, Alabama.

Annie married Joseph Ramsey, and one child, Jo Ann, came from this union. Annie married Archie Fred Williams, and one child, Archie Will, came from this union. Annie was preceded in death by her mother, Gency McMillan; her sisters, Cecilia Montgomery and Ruth Shipman; her brother, H.L. Snell; and her daughter, Jo Ann Clark.

Annie was a member of Saint Paul AME Church, where she confessed Jesus Christ at an early age. Annie worked as a housekeeper in her early years, showcasing her exceptional work ethic. Her commitment and reliability were of excellence.

Annie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was an excellent cook. When she was able to stir in the kitchen, she would cook extremely delicious meals for family gatherings.

Annie's sweet spirit and sense of humor endeared her to all who were fortunate to know her. Despite challenges, she seldom complained and preferred to meet life with a positive outlook. She touched every soul she encountered with her kindness, her strength and her beautiful spirit.

In 2021, due to health challenges, Annie moved to Madison, Alabama to be with her granddaughter, Iris Rivera. During this time, she continued to exemplify her unwavering love for family and friends. She would always stay in touch with friends in Ozark on almost a daily basis.

Annie Will Williams, a loving devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, great-great-great grandmother and aunt, leaves behind a legacy of resilience, hard work, and unwavering love. May her memory be a source of inspiration to all who had the privilege of sharing in her remarkable journey. Though she has departed this earthly realm, her legacy of love and dedication will forever illuminate the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Though our hearts ache, we rejoice in knowing that Annie finished her race and kept the faith, just as the Apostle Paul wrote: I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. - 2 Timothy 4:7.

We thought of you today, but that is nothing new.

We thought about you yesterday, and days before that too.

We think of you in silence, we often speak your name.

Now all we have are memories, and your picture in a frame.

Your memory is our keepsake, with which we’ll never part.

God has you in His keeping, we have you in our heart.
