Carolyn Sistrunk Hill, born on February 11, 1959, to Comer Sistrunk and Roberta Sistrunk Baty, passed away leaving a legacy of love and resilience. Carolyn was baptized at a very young age at First Baptist Church in Ozark, Alabama. She attended the Ozark City School system and graduated from Carroll High School, Class of 1977.
Carolyn found great purpose in her work, holding various positions throughout her life. She served as a counselor for "at-risk" teenage girls at Cunningham Children’s Home, worked as a Lathe Operator at Disk’Tec, and contributed to the dining facility at Ft. Sill in Lawton, OK. In her spare time, she enjoyed staying connected with family and friends on Facebook and watching her favorite TV shows, including Judge Mathis, Judge Judy, The People's Court, and The Golden Girls.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harvey Crittenden and Mary Emma Crittenden; her parents, Comer Sistrunk and Roberta Sistrunk Baty; her aunt, May Crittenden; her uncle, Tyrone Crittenden; her son, Bobby White; and her grandson, Jacob White. She was also preceded in death by her nephews, Maurice Antonio Sistrunk and Ryan "Lupi" McLeod, and her niece, Fatima Miles.
Carolyn will forever live in the hearts of those who love her and cherish her memory. She leaves behind her sisters, Marilyn (Donald) Bohanan of Albany, GA, and Gloria McLeod Knox of Ozark, AL; her brothers, Keith (Katina) Sistrunk of Troy, AL, and Michael Sistrunk of Ozark, AL.
Her children, whom she loved dearly, include Rodney Miller of Atlanta, GA; Bryan White of Atlanta, GA; and Kourtney Hill of San Bernardino, CA. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Tyliea Miller of Rantoul, IL; Markell White of Champaign, IL; Dshyyah Miller of Chicago, IL; Tatyana Miller of Rantoul, IL; Bryson Merriett of San Bernardino, CA; and Kobe Clark of San Bernardino, CA.
