Delores Cohen, age 65, of Ozark, Alabama, born to Obie and Betty McLeod, was called home to be with the Lord on November 5, 2025. She lived a life filled with love and laughter. Known for her caring nature, her delicious home-cooked meals, and her ability to make everyone feel welcome, Delores created a home where family and friends always found laughter, joy, and good food.
Delores was married to Dari Cohen and they shared 16 years of marriage. This union gave them two children Chasity (Alabama) and Jerome (Alabama) while residing in New Jersey. She made her house a home — one filled with music, good meals, and just enjoying family and friends. Delores then returned to Alabama, where she continued to share that love to those she met.
Throughout her life, Delores dedicated herself to helping others. Her work touched people of all ages — from guiding and encouraging troubled youth, to caring for the elderly, and serving our troops while working on Fort Rucker, where she was last employed. Her compassion, patience, and genuine concern for others left a lasting impression on everyone she served.
Delores was a member of Allen Chapel in Skipperville, Alabama, where she served as a member of the Adult Choir. She led with a joyful spirit as she sang and worship God. Her voice was a blessing to all who heard it.
She was a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose kind spirit and heart touched everyone who knew her. Delores enjoyed the simple pleasures of life — spending time with her family and friends, relaxing during quiet moments, cooking, and sharing laughter over a good game of cards or dominoes. Her laughter and humor created lasting memories for all who had the blessing of knowing her.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved children, Chasity and Jerome (ShMeka); her mother Betty McLeod; her loving siblings, Mitchell, Joan, and Angie; and she was preceded in death by her father Obie McLeod, and siblings Otherene, Wade and Anthony.
Delores also leaves behind her precious grandchildren, who brought her great joy: Chasity’s children — Kemon, Arabian, and Raymon; and Jerome’s children — Jaelon, Jaalil, and Jace.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the many acts of love, kindness, and support shown during this time of loss.
